inverter-compatible electric motor

The last metres of a production line usually belong to packaging machines. The product is weighed, filled, closed, labelled, cased, palletised and wrapped before shipping. Each of ... More Details

A plastics plant houses loads that have almost nothing in common under one roof: the extruder screw turns against a steady torque all day, the granulator rotor takes a blow with ev... More Details

When a machine's speed has to be adjusted, the usual answer is to feed the three-phase motor from a frequency drive (inverter, VFD). Connecting the drive, however, is only half the... More Details

In most quarries the machine that takes the large blasted blocks from the truck dump hopper and releases them into the primary crusher at a steady rate is a pan-type (apron) feeder... More Details

In a crushing and screening plant the hopper is the first point where rock enters the machinery; the feeder at the hopper outlet decides how fast material reaches the crusher, and ... More Details

A calibrating machine evens out the thickness of a slab coming from a gang saw or block cutter at every point; a honing and polishing machine then brings that levelled surface to a... More Details

Before a marble, granite or travertine slab becomes a saleable product, it is divided into strips of a set width and pieces of a set length. Two machines share this work: the strip... More Details

Green bricks and tiles leaving the press must lose most of their water before entering the kiln; if this water is not removed slowly and evenly, the product cracks or warps. In the... More Details

In a line that extracts juice from apples, pomegranates, grapes or carrots the press never works alone: first a mill crushes the fruit, then the press squeezes the mash, and then a... More Details

Mixed packaging waste or household waste is tipped into a sorting plant by truck; at the outlet, paper, plastic types, metal and glass have been collected separately. The line that... More Details

A blower is a machine that delivers air continuously at a pressure a fan cannot reach but far below that of a compressor; it sends air to the diffusers of a treatment basin, to a p... More Details

A plug fan is a centrifugal impeller without a scroll housing, placed in an open chamber (plenum) inside an air handling unit or ventilation cabinet. Because the impeller sits dire... More Details

A duct axial fan consists of a propeller and the motor carrying it, placed inside a cylindrical sheet-metal casing; the flanges at both ends of the casing turn the fan into an inte... More Details

A vane axial fan carries fixed guide vanes inside its cylindrical casing, placed directly behind or in front of the impeller. Air leaves the impeller with a swirl; the stationary v... More Details

A reversible axial fan can move air in both directions with the same impeller. The blade profile is symmetrical or designed to work in both directions; when the motor's direction o... More Details

A mixed flow fan sits between the axial and the centrifugal fan. Air enters the impeller axially, is directed both forward and outward as it passes over blades mounted on a conical... More Details

A backward-curved fan is a centrifugal fan whose blades are inclined against the direction of rotation. The blades may be flat plate (backward-inclined), curved or of aerofoil sect... More Details

A forward-curved fan is recognised by the many short, shallow blades arranged around the rim of its wheel; the blade tips are bent towards the direction of rotation. This design mo... More Details

The dust collection fan is the heart of a system that draws air from a plant's dust sources, passes it through ducts, a filter and a cyclone, and discharges it cleaned. The same lo... More Details

An air handling unit (AHU) filters outdoor and return air inside a casing, heats or cools it, humidifies it when needed and distributes it through the building; the supply and exha... More Details
