Worm Gear Reducers

Worm gear reducers are compact power transmission units with input and output shafts at 90 degrees that reduce the high speed of the electric motor and increase output torque. Quiet running and a high reduction ratio in a small volume make them common on conveyors, packaging, gate and automation systems.

How Is Output Speed Calculated?

  • Output speed = motor speed ÷ reduction ratio (e.g. approx. 50 rpm with a 1500 rpm motor and a 1/30 ratio)

  • Larger frame sizes transmit more torque and accept higher motor power

  • Reduction ratios and approximate output speeds for each frame are given on the product pages

Gearbox and Gearmotor Prices

The gearbox price depends on frame size, reduction ratio, mounting and the power of the motor to be fitted. To supply the gearbox and motor together see our gearmotor and electric motor for gearbox pages, and send your output speed and torque requirement through our online quote form.
