When a motor will work in a dusty place, under high vibration or heavy load, the body material alone settles most of the decision. The cast iron frame exists precisely for these conditions: it is far more resistant to impact, shock and temperature than a lightweight body. At HEM Motor we produce our cast iron body motors in-house and deliver from stock, offering a durable option for heavy-duty applications.

Another advantage of cast iron is that it conducts heat well, so the motor stays cooler even under heavy load and failure risk drops. Our sector motors run from 0.55 kW to 355 kW, with a Ø100 mm shaft diameter on the largest frame. IP55 protection and Class F insulation are standard across the range, and slip near full load is about 4%.

  • Mechanical strength: superior resistance to impact and vibration.
  • Thermal benefit: cooler running thanks to good heat conduction.
  • Harsh environment: suited to dust, humidity and outdoor conditions.
  • Construction that can also be built in IE3, IE4 and IE5 classes.

A lightweight body is advantageous for small powers and portable jobs, but cast iron comes to the fore in heavy fields such as mining, cement and crushing plants.
