The mounting arrangement describes where the motor is fixed to the machine. HEM Motor offers B3, B5, B14, B34 and B35, plus vertical V1, V3, V5, V6 and V15 positions depending on frame; flange and shaft size are confirmed at ordering.

CodeFixingTypical use
B3Foot-mounted, horizontalGeneral drives on a base with coupling or belt
B5Large flange; clearance holes, bolts pass throughGearbox, pump housing, hydraulic pump adaptor
B14Small face flange; tapped holesCompact gearbox and small pump connections
B35 / B34Feet + B5 flange / feet + B14 flangeApplications that sit on a base and are also flange-fixed
V1 / V5Vertical, shaft downVertical pumps, mixers

The pair most often confused is B5 and B14: both are flanged, but the B14 flange is smaller and has tapped holes. Since a frame can have more than one flange size, send the outer diameter, spigot diameter and hole pitch of the old flange, and whether the holes are tapped.

Models: B5/B14 flange motors, B34/B35 foot-and-flange motors; for vertical use see our V1/V5 vertical mounting article.
