A nameplate summarises what the motor can do under rated conditions. The table below uses the values of our 7.5 kW 1,500 rpm cast-iron model to show what each field means.
| Field | Example value | What it tells you |
|---|---|---|
| Type | 132M-4 | Frame 132, core length M, 4 poles |
| kW / HP | 7.5 kW / 10 HP | Mechanical power available at the shaft |
| rpm | 1,460 | Actual speed at rated load |
| V and connection | 400/690 V Δ/Y | Delta on a 400 V supply, star on a 690 V supply |
| A | 14.3 A (400 V) | Current at rated load; basis for the overload setting |
| cos φ | 0.84 | Power factor |
| IE / efficiency | IE3, 90.4% | Efficiency class and rated efficiency |
| IP / Ins. Cl. | IP55 / F | Degree of protection and insulation class |
| S1, Hz | S1, 50 Hz | Continuous duty and rated frequency |
On our 75 kW and larger models the nameplate also shows the service factor (SF 1.15). Read the data together: the same kW at a different speed means a different torque and often a different frame. When replacing a motor, a nameplate photo together with the serial number is the quickest way to match it.
