Buying the right electric motor is the first step towards a machine that runs trouble-free for years. A motor with the wrong power or speed either overheats or wastes energy. This page helps you choose the motor, gives a checklist to go through before ordering and explains how to get a quote from HEM Motor.
Which motor family fits your application?
IE3 induction motors: the most common choice for general drives, pumps, fans and conveyors.
IE4 high-efficiency motors and IE5 motors: for long running hours where energy cost matters.
Cast-iron frame motors: for dusty, shock-loaded and heavy-duty conditions.
Single-phase (220 V) motors: 0.18–5.5 kW for workshops, homes and small businesses without a three-phase supply.
Geared motors: for conveyors, mixers and screw conveyors that need low output speed and high torque.
If you choose by application, see our pump, fan and blower, compressor and crusher motor pages.
Checklist before you buy
Power and speed: the shaft power and speed the machine needs. At 50 Hz, 2 poles ≈3000, 4 poles ≈1500, 6 poles ≈1000 and 8 poles ≈750 rpm.
Voltage and connection: 230/400 V or 400/690 V in the three-phase range. Star-delta starting requires the motor to run in delta at 400 V (400/690 V winding).
Mounting: B3 foot-mounted, B5 flange, B14 flange or B35; codes such as V1/V3 for vertical use.
Protection and environment: IP55 and class F insulation as standard; −15 °C to +40 °C and altitudes up to 1000 m. Tell us before ordering if the site is hotter or higher.
Starting method: direct-on-line, star-delta, soft starter or frequency inverter. The three-phase ranges are suitable for inverter speed control.
Efficiency class: IE3, IE4 or IE5; the more hours the motor runs, the more a higher class pays back.
How an order works
1. Send the details: power, speed, mounting, quantity and delivery location. For a replacement, a photo of the nameplate is enough.
2. Receive the quote: price, stock and delivery time come in the same reply.
3. Confirm: technical details such as colour (RAL 7012 / RAL 7024), sensors or heaters are settled at this stage.
4. Shipment: motors are shipped from stock from our warehouse in Türkiye.
For prices see our electric motor prices page; for dimensions download the technical catalogue and the 2D technical drawings.

Frequently Asked Questions
How can I place an order with HEM Motor?
You can order via WhatsApp or by phone on +90 532 345 49 86. We first prepare a quotation; the order is confirmed once you approve the price and technical details.
Are motors delivered from stock?
Yes. Thanks to our wide stock, most standard motors are delivered from stock from our warehouse in Turkey. The current stock status of the model you need is stated in the quotation.
How are invoicing, shipping and transport handled?
An invoice is issued for every order. Depending on the motor size and the destination, goods are shipped by courier or by freight; the shipping method and terms are agreed with you at the quotation or order confirmation stage.
What happens if I choose the wrong motor?
To prevent this, we carry out a technical check before the order: power, speed, voltage, mounting type and shaft and flange dimensions are compared with the information you provide. If you are unsure about anything, say so before confirming; a photo of the existing motor's nameplate largely rules out a wrong choice.
What information should I prepare before ordering?
Have the motor power (kW), speed (rpm), voltage (230/400 V or 400/690 V), mounting type (B3, B5, B14, B34, B35 or a vertical version), efficiency class, quantity and delivery location ready. Mentioning options such as PTC/PT100 sensors or an anti-condensation heater, and whether a frequency inverter will be used, speeds up the quotation.
