Motor price is driven first by output (kW) and speed. At the same power, a lower-speed motor, i.e. one with more poles, often moves up to a larger frame and needs more material. For example, a 7.5 kW motor comes in frame 132S at 3000 rpm and frame 160M at 1000 rpm, and the price reflects this.
- Frame material: aluminium frames cover 0.25–11 kW and cast-iron frames 0.55–355 kW; at the same power the two frames are priced differently.
- Mounting: moving from foot-mounted B3 to flange B5/B14 or foot-and-flange B35 can change the amount.
- Options: PTC/PT100 sensors, anti-condensation heater, special RAL paint colour.
- Quantity and destination: order quantity and freight distance affect the total.
The cost per kW is higher on small motors than on large ones. For a detailed comparison see our articles on factors affecting motor prices and motor price per kW; the current price is on each product page.
