In an inverter application, the right motor configuration depends on how the motor will be used. Preparing the following information before the quotation or order speeds things up:

  1. Power and number of poles: kW and speed at 50 Hz (3,000, 1,500 or 1,000 rpm).
  2. Speed range: Lowest and highest operating frequency or speed.
  3. Load type: Fan, pump, conveyor, mixer, compressor, etc.
  4. Duty profile: How long per day it will run at low speed, and whether there are frequent start-stops.
  5. Inverter: Input and output voltage; brand and model if possible.
  6. Cable: Approximate cable length between inverter and motor.
  7. Mounting and mechanical connection: B3, B5, B14, B34, B35 and vertical V1/V3/V5/V6/V15 are offered depending on the frame; flange and shaft dimensions are confirmed in the order. Also state the gearbox, coupling or belt connection.
  8. Ambient: Temperature, altitude, enclosed cabinet, dust and humidity.
  9. Options: PTC/PT100 sensor, anti-condensation heater, need for a forced fan.

If you are replacing an existing motor, a nameplate photo is the quickest start; you can send it via the motor nameplate submission page. To compare dimensions, the motor technical drawings can be reviewed.
